Abstract The Vapor-liquid equilibrium data at 763 mmHg pressure have been determined experimentally for water-pyridine System, Thermodynamic consistency has been checked by the Herington method.The effect of calcium chloride on the vapor-liquid equilibrium of the water-pyridine system has been investigated under 760 mmHg pressure. Experiments have been carried out at various concentrations of salt, In this paper, an equation is established, which is used to correlate satisfactorily the relationship between the parameter of salt effect and the liquid phase composition
