Abstract Flooding velocity and characteristic velocity were investigated in this work with packed column of diameter 75mm, Three systems—26.1% glyeral-kerosene, water-kerosene, water-isooctyal alcohal and three types of packing—Lesssing ring, Rasching ring and Intalox saldles were used. The experimental results show that the flooding velocity and characteristic vielocity are affected by the physical properties of systems and the characteristics of packings.
The correlations of flooding velocity and characteristic velocity were obtained respectively by regression analysis. The velocities calculated by the equations obtained arc close to the experimental values with deviation within ±15%. |
