Abstract A study has been made on the grafting of acrylic acid onto polyethylene film by the radiation-induced polymerization method. The results showed that the grafting proceeded successfully with the addition of inhibitor. The grafting was enhanced with the including of inorganic acid in the solution. The crystallinity and thickness of the trunk polymer was found to be important in affecting grafting. Further more, qualitative and quantitative IR analysis and morphology of the graft copolymer were showen.
