Abstract Dimethyl terephthalate(DMT)is the main raw material for producing polyester fiber.Because its purification process is long,so the cost is very high.In this paper,the falling film crystallization is used to separate and purify DMT.The product of high purity is obtained.The influence of various operating conditions on the crystallization rate and product purity have been investigated.The optimum operating condition is given.
