Abstract As an important chemical,methanol's production is increasing,it is urgent and important to research on the recovery of the used catalyst.A new process which produce copper sulfate pentahydrate and activated zinc oxide from the used catalyst by soaking in complex acid has been introduced in this paper.The process is simple and the product has high additional value,the quality reaches to GB437-80 and GB/T3185-92.The value in economy and in society is great.A new path is proposed to recover the used catalyst in the preparation of methanol and to eliminate environmental pollution.
