Abstract In this study, zeolite catalysts,in which HY zeolite was used as active component and alumina gel,silica-alumina gel and titania-alumina gel as binders, were prepared for removal of trace olefin in aromatics. The effect of binders and calcination temperature on their performance and catalyst deactivation and regeneration were investigated by means of NH_3-TPD,BET and TGA.The results indicated that the catalytic activity of zeolite catalysts with any binder was superior to that of a commercial particulate clay,i.e.NC-01,which was due to more weak acidic sites on zeolite catalysts than NC-01.Carbon deposition was the main reason for zeolite catalyst deactivation, and calcinations was an effective method for catalyst regeneration, and the regenerated catalyst still showed good performance.Among the catalysts concerned, the one containing 20%(wt) silica-alumina gel and calcinated at 823 K showed better catalytic performance.
