Abstract The contents of borneol in Qiangxin dripping pills were determined by capillary gas chromatography with an HP-5 capillary column(30 m��0.32 mm��0.25 ��m).The temperatures of column,injector and FID detector were 70 ��,250 �� and 250 �� respectively.Nitrogen gas was applied as carrier gas.The volume of injection was 2 ��L.Menthol was added as an internal standard,and the peak area of borneol was calculated by adding areas of bornyl alcohol and isoborneol.Excellent linear correlation of borneol was established with range of 0.06��2.40 mg/mL,and r was(0.999 99).The average recovery of this method was 100.26%,and the relative standard deviation(RSD)was 0.78%.The method was sensitive,reliable and was able to be applied in quantitative determination of borneol-containing substances.
