Abstract Thioetherification is a process for the removal of mercaptan and diene from FCC gasoline, more particularly which can avoid the loss of octane value in desulfuration unit. The characteristics and mechanisms of thioetherification are introduced, including the application of the crafts and catalysts in FCC gasoline refining.By integrating application cases for desulfuration, the merits and demerits of the technology are summarized.
