Abstract Vapor phase corrosion inhibitor, as a rust prevention method with long anti-rust period, simple operation and low cost, has attracted much attention and made great progress in recent years. With the emergence of various vapor phase corrosion inhibitors, how to evaluate the effect of a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor more effectively and comprehensively has become particularly important. The evaluation methods of the corrosion inhibition performance of vapor phase corrosion inhibitors are reviewed, including conventional experimental methods, electrochemical evaluation methods, modern analytical testing methods and structure-activity relationship calculation methods, and the development trend of their evaluation methods is prospected.
