Abstract he catalytic hydrogenation of 2,2,6,6tetramethyl4piperidone to 2,2,6,6tetramethyl4piperidinol was studied in the present paper.The reaction conditions,including nature of catalysts,concentration of triacetone and solvents,etc.,were investigated systematically when the reaction was carried out in a fluidizedbed tower reactor.The reaction parameters were optimised.The yield of 2,2,6,6tetramethyl4piperidinol is up to 97% under optimum reaction conditions.Thus,a novel route to synthesize 2,2,6,6tetramethyl4piperidinol by catalytic hydrogenation of triacetoneamine was established.
