Abstract As fractional crystallization has been developed successfully, the study of solid-liquid equilibrium becomes increasingly attractive. In this work, the solid-liquid equilibrium data and heat of mixing (excess enthalpy) of benzene-cyclohexane system were measured and a method for predicting solid-liquid epuilibrium of simple eutectic systems from excess enthalpy was proposed, The calculated results were compared with the experimental data, showing the validity of the proposed method.
