Abstract:
Recent technical Progress of light stabilizers is reviewed. Along with the continual extension of application of plastics, light stabilizers have been developed at a higher speed than the other additives for plastics. Among all kinds of the light stabilizers, the performence of the Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS)ranks first.In China, the present annual productive capacity of light stabilizers is about 500 tons, and the demand for then will be 3100 tonS by 2000, During processing and use of plastics under light temperature and other severe environments, the stabilizers may more or less volatilize and migrate out. To synthesize high molecular stabilizers is one of the ways to overcome the problem. Moreover research works on stabilizer which can react with base polymer to form some chemical bonds have been very active. In order to meet the demands of high performance and low cost, attention should be paid to the Synergistic effect through compounding the existing additives.
