Abstract:
The leached type Mg(OH)2 was prepared with brine and ammonia water as raw material. The leached type Mg(OH)2 and magnesium sulfate solution were put into the autoclave to prepare basic magnesium sulfate whiskers by hydrothermal reaction. The effects of concentration of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, the temperature of the reaction, the rate of electric mixer, the raw material ratio, and the time of reaction on the preparation were discussed. The optimal experimental condition have been attained: The concentration of magnesium sulfate heptahydrate was 08 mol/L,the temperature of reaction was 160 ℃, the rate of electric mixer was 300 r/min, the raw material ratio of MgSO4.7H2O:Mg(OH)2 was 2:1, the time of reaction was 8 h. And SEM,XRD,TG-DTG were performed for analysis of basic magnesium sulfate whiskers.
