Abstract�� Technology optimization has been conducted for the synthesis of alkyd resin in which part of phthalic anhydride(PA) is substituted by maleic anhydride (MA).Adopting the post styrenation technological process,and using the mixture of monomers consisting of most styrene(St) and a little (poly)methyl methacrylate(MMA)and butyl acrylate(BA)as modifiers,MA-alkyd has been modified.Technological optimization has been carried out.The optimum condition for alkyd modification has been confirmed.Also the mechanism of styrene chemical modification alkyd resin have been discussed.
