Abstract�� Distearyl pentaerythritol diphosphite has been synthesized with pentaerythritol, triethyl phosphite and stearic alcohol.The effects of reaction temperature,reaction time,catalyst and the molar ratio of raw materials on the yield of the product were analyzed.The whole process can be divided into two steps: the syntheses of pentaerythritol diphosphite and distearyl pentaerythritol diphosphite.From the experimental result it was concluded that the optimized conditions for the first reaction were under 130 ��,the ratio of triethyl phosphate to pentaerythritol being 2.05,that catalyst being 0.03 of pentaerythritol and lasting 2.5 h;for the second reaction,the molar ratio of distearl alcohol to pentaerythritol diphosphite being 2.05,under 160 ��,lasting 3 h,conversion over 85%.The element analysis and IR spectrogram of the product were confirmed as the target product.The application experiments in polyvinyl chloride show that distearyl pentaerythritol diphosphite can cooperate with Ca-Zn stabilizer in restraining initial colourability.While in polypropylene products,distearyl pentaerythritol diphosphite has good synergistic stability with Ca-Zn stabilizer and shows good long-term heat stability.
