Abstract Some of yellow azo pigments have been synthesized by coupling of acetoacetarylide derivates with different substituted nitroaniline diazonium salts. The relationship between pigment structure and shade, m. p., and thermal stability, and the, effect of addition of surface active agent on coupling reaction product have been studied. TGA and differential thermal analysis (DTA) in air of the pigments and the variance of visible spectra reflectance have also been determined.
