Abstract Bromophenol blue ion-selective electrode was used in catalytic potentiometric method to determine trace amount of Mn(Ⅱ). As the rcaction velocity is proportional to the concentration of Mn(Ⅱ), this electrode is used to indicate the variation of the concentration of bromophenol blue. A linear range is obtained from 2 to 40 ng/mL of Mn(Ⅱ). This method was successfully applied to determine the trace amount of Mn(Ⅱ) in nature water.
