Abstract Aecording to the principles of material balance and phase equilibrium an indirect calculation method for vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE) data is obtained, By. use, of it, the equilibrium compositions of vapor phase and liquid phase can be calculated from the known temperature, total pressure, volume of equilibrium cell and amount of each components A set of equipment for measuring VLE data is designed, installed and adjusted. The VLE data for ethanol-benzene binary system have been measured and calculated at 25, 35, 45, 55 and 65℃. The result compared with those published is satisfactory.
