Abstract In this paper,the polymerization of tetrahydrofuran with (CH_3COBF_4as catalyst in the presence of acetic anhydride and the kinetic machanismof polymerization and chian transfer were discussed in detail.It has beenfound that acetic anhydride has a great influence on the polymerizationrate constants The apparent rate constants of polymerization are 3.59,5.11 and 11.53×10~(-3)L/mol·s;the apparent rate constants of chain tran-sfer are 2.03,3.59 and 8.23×10~(-3)L/mol·s respectively
