Abstract The Dynamic Ion beam Mixed Implantation technique (DIMI)has been employed to prepare the ultrathin PTFE films on the surfaces of copper and stainless steel tube respectively.The dropwise condensation of steam is realized on these films.The heat transfer performance on the different films were studied.The dependence of heat transfer coefficient of dropwise condensation on the processing conditions of the surfaces and the thermal conductivity of surface materials is discussed finally.
