Abstract dimethylnaphthalene is an ideal raw material of the production of polyethylene naphthalate. It is an important task to obtain 2,6 dimethyinaphthalene in low cost. In this paper, several kinds of separation ways of producing 2,6 dimethylnaphthalene from dimethylnaphthalene isomers, such as supercritical extraction, pressure crystallization, adsorptive separation and cooling crystallization are reviewed. The trends of development and superiority of these methoods are also elaborated and analyzed respectively.
