Abstract The acrylamide/2 acrylamido 2 methylpropanesulfonate/2 acrylamidotetra decanesulfonic acid copolymer was synthesized by redox initiation.The structure of the poly(acrylamide/2 acrylamideo 2 methylpropanesulfonate/2 acrylamidotetradecanesulfonic acid)were research by IRS.The properties of water solution of the copolymer was evaluated in laboratory.The experimental results showed that the copolymer has good thermal stability, very good heat resistance and salt tolerance when it is dissolved in salt water solution.
