Abstract The paper describes the research progress of the preparation methods of 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene(2,6-DIPN) by the selective alkylation of naphthalene and propylene,and emphasizes on the research development of the catalyst of the synthesis.Subsequently introduces the separation technology of 2,6-DIPN from diisopropylnaphthalene mixtures,among which special details are given to the method of adsorption separation.The paper also points out that the ideal technology of petroleum naphthalene production is preparing 2,6-DIPN from naphthalene and propylene on the zeolite molecular sieve.����
