Abstract N,N-diethylaniline was synthesized from aniline with bromoethane using tetraethylammonium chloride as phase transfer catalyst under atmospheric presure. The various reaction factors such as reaction period, volume of sodium hydroxide solution, mole ratio of aniline to bromoethane, amount of catalyst, percentage concentration of sodium hydroxide solution and reaction temperature etc effected on the yield of N,N-diethylaniline have been studied. The Optimum parameters for preparing N,N-diethylaniline have been proposed.
