Abstract To predict the vapor-liquid equilibria at high pressures, a group contribution equation of state called PSRK was proposed, wherein the excess Gibbs free energy mixing rule and the UNIFAC model were combined with SRK equation of state. PSRK equation of state was applied to predicting the vapor-liquid equilibria of five binary systems at different temperatures and pressures, the relative average deviations of the experimentally determined vapor pressure and vapor molar faction with calculated results were 2.16% and 1.01%, respectively. The comparision of the results showed that the PSRK equation of state can be successfully used to predict vapor-liquid equilibria at high pressures, and its accuracy was slightly higher than that of the MHV1 and MHV2 model.
