Abstract The mixture composed of catechol and hydrochinone which are isomers were successfully separated by high-speed countercurrent chromatography.The two-phase solvent system consisted of hexane-ethyl acetate-methanol-water(volume ratio is 7��3��6��4) was the best one.The lower phase was mobile phase and the upper phase was stationary phase.The mobile phase flow rate is 0.5 mL/min.
