Abstract The fuzzy orthogonal design is a method that the orthogonal results were fuzzed and analyzed by fuzzy mathematical theory.The fuzzy analysis might estimate not only main effect of factors,but also possible optimal combination among factors.More useful information can be got from fuzzy orthogonal deign than that from classical orthogonal design.Based on multi-purpose relative function for the comprehensive properties of water absorbency, stability, strength and water retentivity, the synthesis of water-absorbent resin was studied and satisfying results was obtained.
