Abstract The habits of 6-aminopenicillanic acid(6APA) were characterized for growth from special physical and chemical environment of solutions. The effects of supersaturations and temperatures on the habits of 6APA were investigated. The results were explored with 6APA crystal structure and 6APA molecule package in the crystal, which was measured by single crystal diffraction method. The study as theory and experimental foundation for the 6APA reactive crystallization process enlarger and design was put forward.
