Abstract N-phenyl maleimide was synthesized from maleic anhydride and aniline.Decompressed azeotropic method,a totally new method for the preparation of N-phenyl maleimide(N-PMI),is developed on the basis of acetic anhydride method and atmospheric azeotropic method.The reaction is carried out in the presence of orthophosphoric acid,with the yield of NPMI above 85%,and the purity of product above 95%.
