Abstract Techniques of chronoamperometry and cyclic voltammetry were employed to study the electro-reduction and diffusion behavior of ferrate(Ⅵ) ion in different concentration of KOH solution at different temperature.Diffusion coefficient of ferrate(Ⅵ) ion could be calculated.The impact of the mass transfer of ferrate(Ⅵ) ion in electrolyte on the super-iron battery in discharge has also been discussed.In addition,the experimental results of cyclic voltammetry indicated that the electro-reduction of ferrate(Ⅵ) ion involves more than one step.
