Abstract Diisopropyl succinate was synthesized from succinic acid and isopropanol with p-methyl benzenesulfonic acid as catalyst.The effects of reaction time,feeds mole ratio,and the amount of catalyst used in the esterification on the yield were discussed.The optimum reaction conditions were determined,and the yield under these conditions reaches 96.5%.
