Abstract Seven new β-DDB derivatives were prepared from gallic acid in 9 steps such as Ullmann coupling reaction,alkylation,benzoylation etc.The structures of these compounds were identified by(()~1HNMR.) This is a new route to the synthesis of β-DDB.A series of β-DDB derivatives with different water-solubility and fat-solubility can be synthesized by reacting with the intermediate for the purpose of finding new antihepatotoxic and anticancer drugs.
