Abstract The effect of particle size on reaction rate of isobutene hydration was investigated in the slurry semibatch agitated reactor with fine powder of NKC-9 ion exchange resin.The results showed that when the particle size was above 105 μm,the internal diffusion resistance can not be neglected.When the particle size was below 30 μm,the reaction rate increased greatly with the decrease of partical size.
