Abstract In the solar energy transfer and storage system,the isomerization of norbornadiene and quadricyclane is an important reaction.The progress in sensitizer of photosensitized photoisomerization of norbornadiene,including triplet energy transfer photosensitizer,transition metal compounds photosensitizer,electron transfer photosensitizer and semiconductor photosensitizer,is reviewed.And their advantages and disadvantages of the photosensitizers are evaluated.Among all the photosensitizers,the triplet energy transfer photosensitizer has higher effects on the isomerization and can be regarded as an ideal photosensitizer.
