Abstract A place located in Binhai District of Tianjin City was chosen as pilot venting experiment location to research the feasibility of pilot in-situ venting method applied to typical soil in Binhai area.The capabilities of site venting and extraction of site experiment were analyzed.In this paper,n-hexane,as a typical substance of light petroleum,was chosen to be the model contamination.During the extraction process,concentration of n-hexane emitted was detected to study the effect of removing light petroleum waste by using pilot in-situ venting system.According to the result,the concentration of n-hexane during extraction was decreased from 452.04 mg/m~3 to 6.28 mg/m~3 by 89 h venting,with a long tailing stage.The results show that in-situ venting method works well on this kind of soil.
