Abstract In order to broaden the application of Kaolin in chemical field,the possibility of Kaolin to be used as support for ammonia decomposition was discussed.According to orthogonal experimental design,major factors were fixed in the preparation of Kaolin-support,then the optimal conditions were fixed.The catalyst of Ni oxide supported by Kaolin was tested for ammonia decomposition reaction,and was compared with industrial MgO.The results indicated that Kaolin-support was equal to industrial MgO-support.Therefore,it was possible that Kaolin-support substituted industrial MgO-support for ammonia decomposition reaction.
