Abstract In the reduction of six kinds of intermediate with halogen substituents,reductions by Fe and hydrogenation were used,and the results were compared and analyzed.For most reduction reactions concerned,dehalogenation occurred seriously in hydrogenation reaction.Better selectivity was achieved and purer products were prepared in the reduction by Fe.So,reduction by Fe is significant for industrial processes.
