Abstract In order to recover acetic acid with a high purity from dilute solution in some chemical processes, firstly the solution was concentrated by benzene/ethyl acetate mixed solvent;then some water and extractant in the system were removed by normal distillation;and at last azeotropic distillation was utilized to separate acetic acid using butyl acetate as entrainer. The purity of acetic acid can be up to 96.84%,and recovery percentage is 84.97%.The experiment could offer some guidelines to the industry.
