Abstract Using AB-8 resin as solid phase,the expansion character and liquid mixing performance in the expanded bed were studied.The expansion character of AB-8 resin in a 50 mm column was found to obey the Richardson-Zaki equation.At a fixed expand ratio,the axial voidage of the bed increased with the increase of bed height,with heterohomogeneous distribution.At a fixed bed height,the liquid axial dispersion coefficient increased with the increase of liquid superficial velocity.Liquid axial dispersion coefficient is 0.5×10~(-5)—(5×10~(-5) m~2/s.)
