Abstract Epoxidation of propene catalyzed by TS-1 has been investigated in a gas-liquid-solid mode with simultaneous separation of propene epoxide.Effects of the main factors, such as reaction temperature, pressure, amount of catalyst, reaction time and flowrates of propene and the inert gas,on the reaction were discussed. The results showed that under the optimal conditions, the conversion and utilization efficiency of H_2O_2 and the selectivity of propene epoxide were 95.3%,98.4% and 85.3%,respectively.The advantage of this process is that the product of propene epoxide can be separated simultaneously, the unreacted propene and the inert gas can be recycled and the catalyst can be separated through conventional techniques. This process is feasible for industrial usage.
