Abstract The solubilities of reduced glutathione in different proportions of water-ethanol mixtures at 283.15 K to 313.05 K were measured using the gravimetric method. It showed that the solubilities of glutathione decreased significantly with the increase of the molar fraction of ethanol. Solubility also gradually increased with increasing temperature. The experimental data were well correlated by the modified Apelblat equation and λh equation, respectively. The enthalpy and entropy of dissolution of glutathione were estimated based on regression of the solubility data by utilizing the van’t Hoff equation. They both increased with the mole fraction of ethanol increasing. The solubility data and correlations obtained in this study provide a theoretical basis for industrial crystallization process design and optimization. It has an important role in guiding industrial production.
