Abstract An interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) was prepared from polypropylene glycol polyurethane (PU) and furfuralcohol resin or HF9200A epoxy furan resin (FA).The kinetics of IPN formation and behavior of microphase separation were analysed by infra-red spectrum and scanning electron microscope. The mechanical properties with varied PU/FA ratio were also investigated. The experimental results showed that at a certain value of PU/FA, the synergism of IPN occured, accordingly the rigidity of polyurethane and the impact strength of furan resin were improved. |
