Determination of 2-Acetylthiophene Reaction System by Capillary Gas Chromatography

Abstract A method is described for the determination of thiophene, acetic anhydride, 3-acetylthiophene and 2-acetylthiophene by capillary gas chromatography with FID and a Carbowax-20M capillary column, using diethyl oxalate as the internal standard�� Under the selected chromatographic conditions, the separation efficiency between 3-acetylthiophene and 2-acetylthiophene was good. A series of linear equations between quality and peak area ratio were built up�� The relative standard deviations and the average recoveries for thiophene, acetic anhydride, 3-acetylthiophene and 2-acetylthiophene were 2.93%, 3.60��, 3.69��, 1.45�� and 99.16%, 104.83%, 101.47%, 101.73%��respectively.
