Abstract By applying potential-dynamic scanning method, the relationship between breakdown potential and Cl~- concentration of aluminum alloys has been studied. It suits Xin-Gang seawater, Hai-He water and mixture of seawater and river-water. An equation expressing the relationship has geen derived by regressive analysis, which is applicable to LF_(21) aluminum alloys with an error less than 3%.
