Abstract�� Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are being noticed more and more by scientists and entrepreneurs because of their novel physical and chemical properties and prospects of application. In this paper, the structure, properties and application of carbon nanotubes are summarized shortly. Some methods of characterization of CNTs are introduced. Relatively detailed review is given on the preparation of CNTs.
