Abstract�� The concept of rotating tube bundle in process engineering is brought forward,and the heat and mass transfer process concerned on both sides of the rotating tube bundle are analysed.Through the proposed technique, channelling effect is reduced on the shell side of rotating tube bundle, a secondary flow similar to Dean vortices do exist in a rotating tube, and the heat and mass transfer efficiencies on the shell side are improved.Anticipation of some applications,such as rotating tubular and/or hollow fiber membrane,rotating packed bed with tube bundle,are surveyed.
