Abstract
The large eddy simulations(LES) with the Euler-Euler approach is used to study the gas-liquid flow in a partially aerated bubble column. The LES results shows that the bubble swarm motion and gas hold-up distribution agree well with the experiment results. And the process of gas-liquid turbulence transient structures formation and evolvement has been captured through the simulation.Effects of different parameters on the vortex structures are as follows:increasing the gas velocity intensifies the change of the vortex structures, increasing the liquid viscosity inhibits the development of the vortex scale, decreasing the column aspect ratio reduces the quantity of the vortexes.
