Abstract�� An operation mode using tank to exchange liquid phase in cascaded columns was proposed.This method can be used to separate heat-sensitive materials as well as mixtures which have a low relative volatility.Ethanol-isopropanol system was studied in this article.The results of this experiment proved the feasibility of this method.A mathematical model was also performed and used to simulate the process.The relatively good agreement between experimental and simulation data shows the present model can represent the process of this operation mode accurately.
