Abstract:
Kaolin nanotubes, a kind of very promising new type nanotubes material, were prepared by intercalation with kaolin as source. The desulfuration property of this kind of nanotube was primarily studied. The desulfurizaton performance of kaolin, kaolin-DMSO, kaolin nanotubes and MCM-41 was evaluated by adsorptive removal of thiophene on ambient conditions. The experimental results show that using kaolin nanotubes to desulfurize organic sulfur is effective and the sulfur adsorption capacity reaches up to 10.08 mg/g. According to the analysis, the specific surface area and the pore size of kaolin nanotubes are possibly the key factor to affect desulfurization efficiency.
