Abstract:
Y-β composite zeolite was synthetized using preset crystal seeds method and characterized by FT-IR, SEM, BET and XRD. The characterization results indicated the Y-β composite zeolite had the structural feature of both Y and β zeolite instead of a mixture of them. The preparation conditions were investigated and it was found that crystallization time, SiO2/Al2O3 ratio and alkalinity could affect the ratio of Y and β in composite zeolite. In addition, the activity of the catalyst in oxidative carbonylation was investigated. The results revealed that Y-β composite zeolite prepared at crystallization time of 180 h, SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of 36, alkalinity of 1.8 showed relatively higher conversion of 1.3% and selectivity of 46.9%, in combination with the advantages of zeolite Y and β.
